After attending the 2015 Boutique Bridal Bazaar and meeting wonderful, friendly vendors with awesome spaces, I knew this was the perfect show for Amanda Joy Events. I want to share with you guys how we came up with our booth design for the 2016 Boutique Bridal Bazaar, how it all came together, and announce the winner of the free bouquet and boutonniere!

The idea for the booth design was the product of brainstorming how we could show attendees what it's like to work with us. We wanted to convey both what we do (florals, styling, planning) and how we do it. What better way than to set up a slightly prettier than real life work space and floral design studio? Everything we used was furniture that we already owned, including my grandmother's first kitchen table, my sister's vanity stool, the shell chairs that sit in my living room, and a spool I found in my parents' garage. The smartest item we brought was my gold Threshold bar cart, which made set up and tear down on the second floor a tiny bit easier.

We wanted the decor and florals to reflect our new branding, as well as be appealing to brides with a wide range of color schemes. So we stuck to white, gray and a little copper. Our back drop was the biggest DIY project: a gray stained plywood tri-fold with our logo stenciled in white. I won't go into the details of the "challenges" (hell) we overcame in making it, but I will give a shoutout to my sister and grandmother whose patient helpfulness are the only reason the back drop was part of our show display and not in a dumpster. I'm supper happy with how it turned out!

I created most of the floral arrangements on-site that morning. There were white peonies, white and blush ranunculus, queen anne's lace, and a variety of green things. I really enjoyed the clean simplicity and elegance of white and green. My favorite part was making a small bouquet and setting it on top of one of our accessories, styled with Silk and Willow ribbon and vintage flower cutters, as if we were still putting on the finishing touches before sending it out to be delivered.

Meeting brides and their fiances, moms, sisters, and friends, was a lot of fun. I loved hearing all the different color schemes and themes. One couple was doing a subtle space theme (yay!). I also heard a lot of navy, blush, white, rustic, etc.. Fortunately, did not hear the word burlap. Lots of you seemed to appreciate our flowers, which makes me super happy about the love and care I put into creating them.
