We brought the French countryside to Cleveland with this heartfelt and whimsical wedding. Rebecca and Spencer came to me with an idea for a backyard wedding at Rebecca's mother's home in Cleveland, Ohio. We discussed some ideas of how to make the best use of the space, as well as their aesthetic and what they wanted to accomplish with styling and decor.
Guests were greeted with a sign explaining they could sit “wherever”, indicating the casual and carefree atmosphere of the occasion. The bride and groom made sure guests didn’t have to wait until after the ceremony to eat and drink by opening the bar early and placing a snack stand with different flavors of popcorn near the entrance. The tables were decorated simply, with a combination of galvanized floral centerpieces, rustic white candelabras and flowers tucked into vintage glass bottles. It seemed like guests were transported to an intimate bistro in the French countryside.
The bride and groom said their vows in front of a vintage shutter draped with a eucalyptus garland and flanked by farmers market style galvanized buckets full of flowers in different shades of purple.
Yard games and table-top games were placed throughout the property so guests could enjoy a little friendly competition while sipping on farmstand quenchers and eating tacos from the Barrio taco truck. Guests could snap photos at the selfie station which was made super special with a family collection of silly hats and masks. Later in the evening, the Euclid Beach Rocket Car (made out of an old amusement park ride) arrived to take guests on a spin around the neighborhood.
The bride and groom now live in Washington, D.C. so they treated guests to a taste of the favorite spot in their new hometown by shipping in Georgetown Cupcakes. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, there was also a station where ice cream sandwiches were made to order. This wedding was made extra special by the detail the bride, groom, and their families, put into making it a unique and personal experience for every single guest!
